Genesis 22: 1-4
1 And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am
2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.
3 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.
4 Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.

Probably wondering what all the highlighting is, well lets talk a little about this passage and the FAITH of Abraham showed.

Here we see in this passage that God wanted to show how Abraham's faith towards God was sincere. We notice that in v1 that God calls out to Abraham and he answers here I am. How many of us answer when God calls out to us? I know for me it took almost 20+yrs. for me to listen to God.

What was God's command to Abraham? He asked him to take his son Isaac (v2) and offer him there for a burnt-offering. WOW!! What would you say if God asked you to take your first born and offer him up for an offering? What is God's command for you? Have you heard from God lately?

Back when I was in High School I dedicated my life to God to do his work in whatever He wanted me to do. Then I turned into the Lost Son in Luke 15. I basically ran away from God, just going to church to please others. It wasn't until December 5, 2011 that I finally "came home" and fell on my knees before God and asked for forgiveness for running, it was then that He spoke to to my heart of what it was I was do it.

PRAY...

Of course, I was like hey I can do that. But I felt inside me that it was more than just praying for myself, it was praying for others. So then unlike Abraham in v3 where he just does what God said to do with no questions asked, I started to question of what I was do to and where to go to do it. Then all of a sudden it was like God grabbed a 2x4 and hit me in the head, I was to start a prayer page on Facebook, just as Abraham was able to see the place afar of where the offering was to happen (v4).

Why Facebook when you have all the resources at your local church you may ask? Because how is it that I am to pray for the couple of hundred of people I know when God wanted me to pray for a whole lot more. Besides have you checked lately of how many people really are on Facebook? Over 800 Million!!! Let's say that is a lot of prayer!!!!

So I listened and started a group page called Prayer Warriors. Started to invite some friends to it, well as of today, only 4 months into it we are now over 1800 members. Praise God!!

There has been people saved as a result of the page, people dedicating their lives to God, re-dedication of lives, people getting back into Church, even helping people when the all they could think of was suicide and the list goes on.

God has grabbed a hold of my life, turned it around and used it for His Glory. Now I don't say this to bring light unto my life but to challenge you today, HAVE YOU HEARD FROM GOD LATELY? Are you like myself the Lost Son or are you going to be like Abraham?

Father God, right now we ask for your blessings on our life. We pray that you would take our life and turn it around right now. Make what we do to be according to Your will. We are part of Your plan, so let us grab a hold of our piece and use it to Your Glory. In Jesus Christ name we pray...AMEN!!

  1. This is a great post. Thanks for sharing your story here. Facebook is a great way to reach people... some people (due to various reasons) will never set foot inside an actual church but can be reached through Facebook or the internet. Thank you for saying "yes!" when God called you to action!
