7 sayings of Christ

A true picture of a Believers life from start to finish

The traditional order of the sayings of Christ when on the Cross is as follows with their meaning:

1.   Father forgive them, for they know not what they do (Luke 23:34).
This is a picture of Forgiveness, When the unsaved individual realizes they have committed sin and ask God to forgive themselves.

2.   Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise (Luke 23:43).
This is a picture of Salvation, once they ask for the forgiveness of their sin they receive Christ as their personal Savior.

3.   Woman, behold your son: behold your mother (John 19:26-27).
This is a picture of the Relationship that we are to have towards one another. A oneness between believers.

4.   My God, My God, why have you forsaken me, (Matthew 27:46 and Mark 15:34).
This is a picture of Trials, we all struggle with them and sometimes feel as if God has left us to fend for ourselves.

5.   I thirst (John 19:28).
This is a picture of Bible Reading and Prayer, we are to always be in communication with God. Bible Reading is God speaking to us and Prayer is us speaking to God.

6.   It is finished (John 19:30).
This is the picture of Triumph, on the day when Christ returns for us and the trumpet will sound.

7.   Father, into your hands I commit my spirit (Luke 23:46).
This is a picture of the Reunion we will have when Christ leads us to Heaven to meet our Maker and we will forever live with Him in Heaven.
