So it's like 4am and I should be sleeping right now but I'm not! Instead, I'm laying here with ear plugs in and all I hear is the beating of my heart and my breathing. It's so peaceful and then... my brain wakes up and no silence now. Wow, what a mess of info all flying through at one time. So to ease the noise and gain the silence once more..........I write.
I have seen so many things lately about things going on in churches and the sins of many all over the place. It's just so discouraging to see and hear. But what's more discouraging, is when I see other's actually aiding in discouraging believers AND unbelievers away from God because of their articles, videos and comments. I don't think some people even realize what they are doing, your not helping people see the wrong ways of doing things, your helping hinder others from coming to Christ.
God says in His word that NO ONE is perfect/righteous NOT ONE! God warns us in His word that we should not trust MAN because they will lead us astray. That includes ALL MEN! That doesn't mean that you can't trust your preacher or leader, it means YOU, each one of us, need to be "in tune" with God, you need to pray for the guidance, knowledge and understanding to decipher if it is truth or not.
God gave certain men the ability to be leaders and he ordained them, but it doesn't put them out of harms way....it doesn't make them perfect.....it doesn't make them sinless.....it doesn't mean that they will always be in the same position they are in today.....it doesn't put them out of Satan's reach............
It actually makes them the bigger target of Satan's.
Think for a minute, what would be Satan's best stradegy? He could, has and will, mess with the people in the pews to put discord in the churches, make people bitter and make God's name look bad but is that really Satan's only strategy? I think not, why not go for the guy behind the pulpit? Why not mess with the guy that has been ordained by God to lead His people in the right direction, why not tempt and corrupt the Preachers, ministers, missionaries, pastors, deacons, Sunday school teachers, ect..... If Satan can get rid of the "shepherds" (pastors, ect) then he can get to the "sheep" (believers) and destroy them!
Our pastors and leaders are under so many attacks on a daily basis from Satan and sometimes they fall into Satan's snares and mess up, some mess up badly, but so do ALL people, we are human! However, God says in His word that one persons sin is not any greater than the next persons sin. So while we may look at that leader and think he's such a bad person and his sin was soooo bad, maybe we should remember that while we are sitting there judging him for his sin, that we are in fact sinning by doing the judging, God's Word says there's only ONE judge and its happens to be GOD. Everyone will give an account for his life and everyone will pay the cost of what they've done.
How can we judge someone else when we ourselves have sin in our own lives!
Here's another point to think on....When Satan messes with the leaders and he gets them to fall into his snares and they sin, it discourages everyone. It gets on the nightly news, facebook, newspapers, magazines, everywhere. It hurts the whole body of believers in Christ because everyone in this world, is watching us like hawks. We are being scrutinized by everyone, even our fellow believers. We are being held to HIGH standards and when we mess up, it's a big deal. When these things happen it needs to be taken care of properly. It needs to be handled in a appropriate way. As believers, we need to let God do the judging! We need to NOT fall victim to Satan's snare that comes with the leaders/believers' sin, which is all the backbiting, bitterness, and discord among believers. We start to question everything we were taught under the leader, because of his sin, he's just a man and he fell for Satan's traps, forgive him and move on, don't smear his name/sin across the media, because at that point, we're involved in sin as well and now we need to be forgiven also. It doesn't edify or encourage the "body" of Christ to wave other believer's faults or sins around. It doesn't bring people to Christ, it pushes them away, they don't want anything to do with "christians" if that's how they are, it looks bad on everyone of us when another believer sins. The only thing it accomplishes is making the organization that the person is involved in look bad and just because there's a few bad seeds doesn't mean they're all bad!! But, most of all, it makes things worse for the name of Christ!!
We are all sinners! Everyone of us, saved or unsaved. The difference is, God's grace, love, mercy and Jesus' blood shed for each of us will make us whole again!
We are NOT very forgiving in this world today, thank GOD that HE IS!!!! When our leaders or fellow believers fall into sin, they get demoted from their post, they lose their spot in the leadership and they go back to being part of the sheep, they need to start over!
Looking at things from a perspective that most of us understand..... as parents we are put in a position to lead our children and when we fail or mess up, we ask for forgiveness, from the child and God and move on. When we mistreat our kids and hurt them in ways that are wrong, we lose our kids, we lose our position as parents and we have to start all over! As parents, we don't expect our kids to be perfect, it's never going to happen, we know that they will be tempted and probably do things that they shouldn't, but we still love our kids, regardless of their flaws or mistakes. We help them through the hard times, we love them through the rough times and we protect them in the scary times! We may not agree eye to eye, but we will do everything we can to protect them. We do this because we love them because they are ours!
God is the same way, only on such a more perfect scale. He actually forgives and forgets!!! He doesn't hold it over our heads and plaster it all over the media every time we sin. He tells us to repent of our sin, turn away from it and live for HIM. Remember the song, "What sins are you talking about, I don't remember them anymore, from the Book of Life they've all been torn out, I don't remember them anymore!" This is God's way of loving, wow we could learn a thing or two from Him!!
I'm not a perfect person, never have been and until I see my Heavenly Father, I will remain imperfect! I may not live my life completely right but I love God and he knows my heart. I can't blame anyone in my past for how I live now. I know God, I know His Word, I know right from wrong and I have to give an account for ME, MYSELF and I, not for you or anyone else. Everyone of us has to answer for our own sin and what a shame it would be for us as believers to get driven into the devils snare of bashing, criticizing and judging others when they sin and us to be as guilty of sin as the person we would be judging!
Jesus paid the ultimate price for us. He went through so much pain, being denied by His own people, being beaten until his body was bruised and torn open, a crown of thorns which was placed on his head just before he was hit with a reed which caused the thorns to penetrate into his scalp, then forced to carry a cross which he was to weak to carry because he was beaten so badly, they had someone in the crowd carry it for him. They NAILED him to the cross, lifted him in the air and let him hang there, all his weight and gravity pulling against the nails in His hands and feet, and they stood there and mocked him and watched him die a painful death. While going through this He asked God a personal request for each of us in this world......"Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do."
Jesus is willing for forgive ANYONE! The Word of God tells us to strive to be like Jesus, we need to work on that. Strive to be better people, believers and encourage one another. Strive to bring people to Christ not away from Him. If we hinder people from coming to Christ because of the things we say about others, churches, leaders, believers, ect., we have to answer for that. We may not even know we're doing it, but God knows when one heart is hardened or turned away by something we do or say, SO BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU SAY AND HOW YOU SAY IT.
Remember that all pastors, leaders and fellow believers are ALL under attack from the devil. We are ALL vulnerable to sin, of ALL kinds. And remember that God will forgive, even if this world will not.
You may not agree with what different organizations believe, teach or do. But ultimately each individual person, not as a whole, is responsible for themselves and their relationship with God and people.
I beg of all the believers out there, instead of judging our leaders or fellow believers, PRAY for them, FORGIVE them and LOVE them as God loves us. Move past the hurt and sin and live your life for God not man!!!
I feel I need to end with a heart felt prayer.... Heavenly Father, thank you for this beautiful early morning. Thank you for all the things you do for me and my family. Lord, I pray that you will forgive me for all my sins, they are so many, each one a product of not striving to live a perfect life. Lord, today I lift up my fellow believers in Christ.
Lord, I pray that you will heal them, strengthen them and guide them in this life. I pray for those who have been in the news lately, with their sins being aired to the public and I pray for those who have been in the privacy of their own home and able to hide their sins from so many, Lord.
I pray that you will help each one realize that if it’s in private or not, you still know what is happening and you are waiting for them to repent and come back to you. Lord, please help our fellow believers, to be able to repent and move forward, in a world that is so unforgiving. Thank you for the grace, mercy and love you show toward each one of us and may each of us learn by your example. Lord, we know that these people will be going through a lot of hard times, they’ve hurt people and disgraced your name and their‘s, they will find it hard to move past this in their community and life, but Lord, they need you now more than ever, I lift them up to you, may your will be done in their lives. Lord, I pray for the unbelievers that may be discouraged by the actions of us believers. Lord, we aren’t perfect and we fail in a lot of ways, please help us to improve our lives and make a difference in this world. Help us to grow so we can lead others to you. Lord, I thank you again for your ability to love us regardless of our faults, oh, to be more like you. In Jesus’ name Amen.
Well, I suppose I must go, had to lose the ear plugs, started hearing the kiddos up and around, not getting along, so it’s time to go have a talk and discuss showing a little respect for each other!! Good lesson for ALL people.
Well Walt, God love you, your right my friend it was for me. All I can say is God forgive me if I am wrong. All I can think of is all the millions od people all these church's are running through by the millions. Hundreds of Thousands of those are being run over trampeled on schewed up and spit out. Now I know there will be some casualties to this battle, but this are people that are being deliberately Spiritually, Physically, Emotionally and Sexually Abused. If this were happening and the Church was doing the right thing afterward I wouldn't have an issue! You see, the Bible teaches, if you offend or hurt someone you are to go to them and ask for forgiveness. If, someone offends you as a believer and and they come and ask forgiveness your are to forgive them. If, this same person sins against you again and they come and ask you to forgive them, you are to for give them again. Someone ask Jesus how many times should we forgive our brother 7 times? Jesus said 70 times 7. Now, I would like you to notice the key here is: if they come and ask for forgiveness.
ReplyDeleteThe problem arises here, these people you are saying I shouldn't reach out have been Abused in all the ways I mentioned above and the Church is doing nothing to restore them. The church, Just like Hyle, is covering the sins of the men commiting these crimes with no apliogy. They continue to go on with their live and continue to abuse more victims and there is NO APOLIOGY. So, I ask what have you or your Church done or doing to reach out to these victims to provide them some validation, it wasn't their fault. That the Abusers are wrong and will be punished. I Jesus took me through the abuse of these Church for a reason. I now understand why! Let me me clear I do believe if these abusers don't ask for forgiveness we did to find within ourselfs a way to forgive them anyway. But, some of these people haven't learned that lesson yet. Some may never. But, I have forgiven the wicked behavior of my abusers. But, the hatred and bitterness that I once had has motived me to reach out to provide some validation to victims all across this land that there is still hope in Jesus Christ. That, if you can't bring your self to go to any Church, because the moment you walk in the door triggers start going off. That there still is hope in God that you don't have to go to Church to walk with God. These people are NOT going to go to Church to get this message. So, what I do is reach out thought www.facebook.com/pages/Church-Survivors/351959144822796 to help validate their experiences. Now, you can call me a ravening wolve in sheeps clothing for trying to help them if you want, but I kindly ask you what are you doing to help the millions of Gods people that are being destroyed & scattered by the Churches of this land. When is the last time you have try to restore a brother in Christ that has been devoured. This again may make you mad my friend. And you may still not understand. But, so it is with these millions of people. No one understands how they feel, but I do! So, I forgive you just like Jesus did for you know not what you speak! God bless you for trying, that's more than most have done!
I guess into response to your post on the blog and knowing that you posted it on your page. I must have to say that it had nothing to do with you personally, It was meant for us as individuals to take a step back and examine our own lives before we are to rebuke others ~ Matthew 7:5. And to say that "I called you one of the wolves in sheep clothing" shows that it must have convicted your soul. It merely is a quotation from the Bible, Matthew 7:15, that says we are to beware of those around us that seem to be helping but are in reality are hurting others in the process. I usually don't respond to post like this due to the individual likes it and gets "fired up" on being the right one in every situation. If that is how you feel, that is totally fine, but don't take my words out of context and put a spin on them as to make them a remark against you. Tom I know you have been through a lot, I have seen some of it first hand. Even with some of my loved ones I have seen how men can hurt fellow believers. But I ask that when I post something, and this something was not even written by myself it was merely something I had found and knew I needed it as much as the other guy, that you stop taking it as a personal shot at you. If it is something that bothers you and think I have personal attacked you, message me and we will talk about it. But to post it on a page and say I'm calling you something, is totally wrong. Even though you may not ask for forgiveness, know that I do forgive you for the action and will not explode it any more than this. In Christ Love, Walt
